The closest thing I have found to my mom’s homemade soups are the soups from Cobblestone Foods. My mom travels to six grocery stores to get only the freshest organic ingredients and with her amazing skill and love, she creates the most amazing soups. Mom doesn’t cook as much as she used to and with 4 mouths to feed seven days a week (3 meals a day!), I had to find some healthy options for our home.

A while back, we purchased a bag of the Cobblestone Cashew Broccoli Quinoa soup from Jimbos to try. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIP! I looked up from my sip and noticed Mr. Cool and the kids not only quickly eating it but licking their fingers! Mr. Cool kept asking – are you sure this is vegan???

I was sooooooo excited to find a vegan option that I can enjoy with my non-vegan hubby and kids. The taste was so amazingly creamy that I took a second look at the ingredient list to make sure I didn’t miss any cream. It turns out that not only is it vegan, there is no gluten, soy, sugar, oil, GMO ingredients or MSG! They have even reduced the sodium and use BPA free packaging! I wanted to know how this was possible and how I can get it in bulk so I contacted the company and received the call from the owner –  Pat (now Dr. Pat since she received her PhD).

Dr. Pat took the time to explain that yes all of this was true and that she is a professor and the soups are inspired by her family's recipes. She searches and secures only the best local organic ingredients. She uses organic herbs and spices and thought is put into every single ingredient – even the salt is a hand harvested grey sea salt. I was so impressed with her and her soups that we started to special order the gallon bags at Jimbos. We had the soup a couple of nights a week and I also used it as a pasta sauce and with tofu. When going to a friend’s home for dinner, we always brought a large bowl to share and without exception, everyone that tried the soup, fell in love with it!

Recently, Dr. Pat invited our family to visit her cooking facility. It is a Certified Organic facility that is vegan, gluten free and dedicated to using non-GMO ingredients. The kids got to taste specific ingredients and the new soup recipes. Her team is wonderful and the whole operation was well thought out and sparkly clean.

Clearly, I can’t say enough for this amazing soup and company. The broccoli is our favorite, but we also love the tomato basil and potato leek. I love that her soups are also available in a dry version mix packet you can make yourself. I think the most important ingredient in Cobblestone soups is LOVE and you can taste it in every spoon.
